Installation on Salt River (click for full image)This is a 10-foot-tall sprinkler created out of papier-mâché, chicken wire, and foam board and installed in the bed of the Salt River in Tempe, Arizona. The Phoenix area was built on a desert but transformed through river diversions, artificial lakes, fountains, and flood irrigation into a sort of oasis. This sprinkler is my attempt to continue this trend by helping pump the Salt River full of water so that it can flow again, as all rivers should.
